Company Profile

Columbia Beverage Company is a premier soft drink manufacturer in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to being the Northwest hub bottler for Pepsi-Cola, Columbia Beverage contracts bottling services with other top brand names. Our dedication to quality is reflected in our client list, which includes: Lipton, Dr. Pepper/ 7-Up, SoBe, and Mug.
Originally formed as a business cooperative in 1976, our management tradition provides for local owners to share responsibilities on our Board of Directors. Direct involvement by owners - matched by input from employees - has allowed Columbia Beverage to maintain its leadership position in a highly competitive market.
Annually, we produce about 25 million cases carbonated, non-carbonated sodas, bottled water, and juice added products. At present we ship 8 percent of our production volume to Guam, Micronesia and America Samoa. Employing as many as 160 individuals during peak season, and utilizing over 300,00 square feet of production and warehouse space, we have the capacity to fill more 36 million cases of aluminum cans, glass and plastic bottles per year.
Two principal factors set Columbia Beverage apart from other bottlers. The first is our continual re-investment in technology. In 1992 we began a $15 million equipment and plant modernization upgrade, resulting in one of the most technology advanced manufacturing facilities in the United States. In 1996, we launched a $1.5 million environmental upgrade, developing one the cleanest and most advance waste water treatment programs for a bottler anywhere in America.
Through our desire to improve our manufacturing process, Columbia Beverage Company has been credited with several key innovations in the bottling industry. We made significant refinements in clean room atmosphere technology. We also aided in pioneering a new process using ozone for sanitation. Recently, we have added a second Reverse Osmosis System to our state of the art Water Treatment System resulting in a combined output of over 600 gallons per minute of pure RO water.
Pepsi-Cola has selected Columbia Beverage as their exclusive manufacturer of "critical item" products for the Pacific Northwest. We are the largest producer of purified water in the Northwest.
